Some of my current volunteer commitments address the need for early childhood education and preparedness through service as a board member of the Carpinteria Children’s Project , the importance of supporting students throughout trauma and stress as Vice Chair of CADA’s Fighting Back Mentor Program Task Force, and the critical importance of preparing students for college and career as board member for Santa Barbara Partners in Education, a program of SBCEO.

I spent 13 years on the board of the Carpinteria Education Foundation and now serve as Lifetime Member. I chaired the successful Measure U campaign for Carpinteria Schools and chaired the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee for a full term.

I previously served and chaired as First District County representative of the Commission for Women, as appointed by then-County Supervisor Salud Carbajal. I am the founder of the first Carpinteria Women’s Fund group and have served as president of the Carpinteria Woman’s Club for over 25 years. Our mission is to promote the arts, education, community action and philanthropy for the benefit of Carpinteria and beyond.

Additionally, I am a member of the Advisory Board for the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center, Chair for Hospice of Santa Barbara’s Compassionate Care of Carpinteria Initiative.

I believe in investing time, talent and treasure to strengthen my community, and that schools are the bedrock of strong communities.
